The Syracuse Maker Faire was my last event in Western New York (I’m moving to Rockville, MD in June, 2026 to continue these shenanigans).
It was a solid day as an exhibitor, lots of traffic but not crazy. Some things broke down, as usual. The Close Encounters gadget is 0 for 2 in terms of functioning correctly at public events. (It always works fine at home :|) I am going to work on the detection sensitivity adjustment and try again.
I added several text only games to the VT-05 terminal recreation and they were quite popular, although a bit obscure to the younger crowd. This group of hardy pioneers did not survive their journey on the Oregon Trail.
Overall, I continued to learn how to better prepare things and engage a diverse group of people to check out what I brought, and even to discuss making things of their own.
